Breathtaking views, great hiking, cycling and mountain bike routes and plenty of excursion destinations await you throughout the holiday and adventure region of Wechselland. The Wechselland is an area north and south of the Wechsel mountain range and connects the federal states of Lower Austria, Styria and Burgenland. The landscape is mainly characterized by fields and forests, which invite you to take long walks and explore.
Well-known destinations are the Erlebnisalm and the Hamari climbing park in Mönichkirchen, the Wexl Arena including Wexl Trails in St. Corona am Wechsel, the Eis-Greissler adventure park in Krumbach and the Hermannshöhle, the largest stalactite cave in Lower Austria.
In summer, the natural bathing lake and leisure park in Pinggau as well as the outdoor pools in Kirchberg am Wechsel and Aspang offer plenty of bathing fun! In about 30 minutes by car you can reach the Avita Therme Bad Tatzmannsdorf with 15 pools and 24 saunas.
In winter, the Mönichkirchen-Mariensee ski area with 13.5 kilometers of slopes offers optimal conditions for a relaxing ski vacation.
There are enough shops for daily needs directly in Edlitz or in Grimmenstein. The entire region also offers a good selection of restaurants.

Date of stay: January 2024Fantastic Place. Cozy House with good heating, only the hot water was a bit to little. The Owner was very charming, and always available when we had questions. All in all a pefect place when you just want to disconnect from the world a bit.

Date of stay: September 2023 - October 2023We (5p and 2 dogs) had a wonderful time in this typical Austrian "Jagdhutte". It is as if you visit an Austrian family, with all signs of family, hunting and local village history. We found that a great asset. We really felt at home. Plenty of board games to play, nice little fireplace, enough wood to burn ... Of course the hunting cabin is dated, don't expect the most modernised kitchen and shower. But everything works and if you search the place a bit, you can find what you need, sometimes in the basement. It's clean, without the terrible cold looks of a newly made "cottage". You need to be a bit creative, but we love that. During evenings/nights it can be very dark, certainly arriving the first time after sunset is a challenge, bring a good torch :). But also that: we loved looking at the stars, which we can barely do at home. All-in-all we have good memories!
