The community is located in the Lech Valley between the Lechtal and Allgäu Alps on the well-known Lechweg, a long-distance hiking trail through the entire Lech Valley to Füssen. Summer and winter in the Lechtal offers everything you can expect from an active holiday for two, with family or with friends. In summer: A challenging MTB tour leads from Steeg to Lech am Arlberg and on to Formarinsee. After about 32 km and more than 800 meters in altitude you will reach the Formarinalpe. After the tough trails, you can park your mountain bike at the nearby Freiburger Hütte, stretch your heavy legs under the table and be served. You deserve a snack with a cool drink. An insider tip for nature lovers is the MTB route from Steeg to the Krabachtal. Whether valley hikes on the wild river Lech or mountain hikes along the Lechtal Panoramaweg - hikers will also get their money's worth in the Lech Valley. Directly from Steeg you can, for example, follow the Höhenweg Hägerau to Holzgau. If you would like to climb the rock face vertically, you will find around 31 routes in difficulty levels IV - VIII in the climbing garden in Lechleiten, a district of Steeg. Even if the weather is not so good, you can spend your vacation day very well in Steeg.
