But why not discover lesser-known places - just a few kilometers from Eguisheim are the pretty little villages of Gueberschwihr and Pfaffenheim, and a tour of their centuries-old town centers is worthwhile. Many well-signposted hiking trails of various durations also start from here. The partially steep ascent through vineyards to the Franciscan monastery Schauenberg is rewarded with a pretty view.
