Afterwards you can end the day in a beach chair on your large balcony. Hohe Düne is a district of Rostock and a state-approved Baltic Sea resort. The place got its name from the dune, which used to be about a kilometer east of the mouth of the Warnow. Then follow the coastal road in the direction of Warnemünde (ferry connection) and enjoy the maritime ambience on the Alter Strom or around the square at the lighthouse. Of course, a city tour of Rostock or a day at the zoo is also an option. Between polar bears and penguins, lions and cheetahs you can discover some of the most beautiful animal enclosures in Germany. A highlight, especially if you are traveling with children, is a visit to Karl's Erlebnishof in Röversha
