Ribnitz-Damgarten is not only a state-approved resort, but is now known everywhere as an amber town. Because here are both the German Amber Museum and the amber show manufactory. The picturesque little town is located between the Hanseatic cities of Rostock and Stralsund - directly at the mouth of the Recknitz in Lake Ribnitz. Various restaurants and cafés as well as shops of all kinds and several contemporary witnesses of brick Gothic make up the very special charm of the place. The proximity to the Baltic Sea beaches is also attractive.
