Description: Spend an unforgettable holiday in this unique and listed holiday home. This house received the 2017 Monument Award and the 2023 Federal Award for Craftsmanship in the Preservation of Monuments. The historic Waldlerhaus is around 200 years old and has been completely gutted, renovated and restored from the ground up.
Feel yourself transported back in time. The expression "living like grandma used to" probably best describes the ambience of the house. Here, old charm meets state-of-the-art technology. Spend your well-deserved holiday in this holiday home together with personal mementos of a bygone era. Indulge in memories or get an impression of how things used to be. At the same time, enjoy the comforts of modern times. You can experience both sides in the Waldlerhaus - a modern kitchen with "old" fronts or a modern renovated bathroom with rain shower and access through an "old stable door". Let yourself be surprised by the many little details. Original details revive the charm of a time around 100 years ago, while at the same time you can enjoy all the comforts of today.
The house has been renovated using natural materials. The unique wooden shingle roof and special wooden box windows (with one inside and one outside window) give the house a very special flair. Inside, the rooms were finished with clay plaster. Together with wall and underfloor heating, this creates a pleasant indoor climate. All living rooms have a larch wood floor, while a local granite floor was laid in the hallway and bathroom. The light switches, which allow the light to be "turned on", are also original - just as they were around 100 years ago. You will be surprised by the many other details.
The house is located in the centre of Stadlern, a small idyllic village in the Upper Palatinate Forest and close to the border with the Czech Republic. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the surroundings. Take long walks through the forest and explore the historic places in the surrounding area. An insider tip is a hike to the ruins of Reichenstein Castle and on to the Bohemian Forest lookout tower with a marvellous view of the Bohemian region. A visit to the ruins of the abandoned village of Bügellohe is also highly recommended. Experience regional specialities in selected restaurants in the surrounding area or in traditional inns. The house is also an ideal base for excursions to Regensburg, Weiden, Cham or the neighbouring Czech Republic. Layout:
