Winter sports enthusiasts will find numerous ski lifts, pistes and cross-country ski trails in the region. Excursions to the surrounding area are also possible: The spa town of Masserberg, the town of Ilmenau, Oberhof (sports facilities) or the world-famous cultural cities of Erfurt and Weimar.
