This is a very cosy apartment, located in the historical centre of Lucca, only a few meters from the beautiful town walls. The apartment lies on the ground floor on ancient palazzo with an external veranda, which is equipped with a table, chairs and sun-umbrella for your dining al fresco. Perfect spot for families with children! Lucca is a beautiful art city, which is really worth the while to explore: you will be amazed to discover a city centre completely enclosed by old walls, full of ancient palazzi, churches, fancy stores and characteristic restaurants. The many cultural events make of Lucca an ideal destination in any part of the year: Lucca Comics and Games at the end of October, religious and classical music concerts from April until June, operas in October and November, the local Festival in the month of September, the Summer Festival concerts in July, open air markets on the week end and much more. The old town of Lucca has a special flair, which attracts every year thousands and thousands of tourists. Lucca could protect over all the years its arts treasures thank to its town wall; to mention are for example: the amphitheatre, the dome of San Martino and the wonderful church of San Michele or “palazzo Pfanner” which was chosen for film sets, because of its beauty, by many film directors, i.e. “portrait of a lady” by Jane Campion with Nicole Kidman. Lucca is also known to be the city of birth of the well-known opera writer Giacomo Puccini, which is appreciated in the whole world! There are many cultural events (concerts, exhibitions), all year over, which are dedicated to the Maestro. Torre del Lago is only 25 km from the historical centre of Lucca – the composer lived there many years – an open-air theatre was built, which is the yearly host of the Puccini opera festival.
