Azalea lies a few steps from Piazza Napoleone meeting point of young people and stage for many events and from the beautiful Piazza San Michele and the cathedral S. Martino.
Lucca is also known to be the city of birth of the well-known opera writer Giacomo Puccini, which is appreciated in the whole world! There are many cultural events (concerts, exhibitions), all year over, which are dedicated to the Maestro. Torre del Lago is only 25 km from the historical centre of Lucca – the composer lived there many years – an open-air theatre was built, which is the yearly host of the Puccini opera festival.
