Welcome to Herresta! Here you'll find a wonderful oasis if you book this charming country retreat, located just a few minutes' walk from the shimmering waters of Lake Mälaren. You have three separate cottages here, with the main house featuring two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a single bed and one extrabed. There's a well-equipped kitchen open to the living room, where cozy sofas await for evening relaxation. A bright and lovely dining area with windows up to the roof ridge gives you the feeling of sitting outdoors while still being inside. On a chilly day, you can light a fire in the open fireplace to increase the coziness factor. A bathroom with shower and toilet is located in the main house. Outside, there's a large terrace equipped with a wood-fired hot tub, and information on how to purchase firewood is available in the cottage. On the terrace, you'll also find an excellent dining area and a grill. In one of the guest cottages, the main room has a single bed and a sofa bed that is 130cm wide, along with a small pantry. Here, you also have another bathroom with shower and toilet adjacent to the sauna, located in this guest cottage. In the smaller guest cottage, there's sleeping space for two people in a double bed that is 140cm wide. Approximately 400 meters from the cabin, you can play some "boule". There is also great bathing spot with jetty and rocks. During Midsummer Eve there is usually a big traditional celebration in the area with raising of a Midsummer pole, games, lotteries and a dance floor in the evening. If you want to explore the area, there are two adult-sized bicycles available for borrowing. Visit Mariefred and wander around its charming alleys, take the opportunity to visit the castle, and perhaps indulge in an ice cream. There's plenty to see and discover in the area around Mariefred; why not take a ride on the old steam locomotive that runs from Mariefred to Taxinge, an experience for both young and old.
