Tips Owner: Honored guests,
Welcome to Villa Venova!
Given that our house is deliberately built on a rock in a valley on the southern side of a slope, you can enjoy the sun almost all day long. The view of the surrounding hills is the best of the park due to its deep central location. The large swimming pool and beautiful nature ensure a well-earned rest! A fascinating sunset and starry sky - inn combination with a barbecue - will hopefully complete the party .
There is a lot to do. So you can make many beautiful bike rides and walks in the nearby area.
A good example is the path across the Jerusalem mountain directly opposite our house to the beautiful town of Pecka (3.5 km), where you can visit a castle (www.hradpecka.cz) and have a wonderful view of the Giant Mountains. In Pecka you can possibly also eat - hotel Roubal or hotel Koruna - or do some shopping at the COOP, or the local shop near the beautiful church. The red arrow, about fifty meters to the left after the house of our overseer Mr. Pus, points the way.
From home you can also walk through the forest through the forest, possibly via the waterfall along the race circuit and the brewery (www.novopackepivo.cz) to Nova Paka (about 7 km). In Nova Paka there are next to a nice square, several nice restaurants, a few banks, a Lidl and a Penny market. A nice route, but take into account steep passages, just like on the aforementioned climb to Pecka. Here you normally do your shopping.
Zvicina, the last mountain in the Giant Mountains, is just over ten kilometers away. In winter you can ski, paraglide and take a small plane to fly over the Giant Mountains. The dam of Les Kralovstvi, not far from there, is certainly worthwhile and can be combined well with a visit to the famous Zoo in Dvur Kralove (www.zoodvurkralove.cz). We go every year!
There are some great restaurants in the area such as:
Lazne Belohrad, 8 km to the south, has excellent wellness facilities (www.belohrad.cz, treeoflife.cz) and several beautiful hiking trails. You can also eat and drink well here, such as at U Kapra.
For enthusiasts, there are also a few golf courses nearby:
Dvur Kralove, the old Koninginnehof, combines well with the Zoo and has a beautiful square with nice restaurants.
Via picturesque Vrchlabi, the gateway to the Giant Mountains with its Krkonose Museum, you will automatically end up in the largest national nature park in the country, www.krkonose.eu, A wonderful area where young and old can work out perfectly and enjoy the beautiful nature. Don't forget to visit the summit of the majestic Snezka, the highest mountain in the Czech Republic. A unique experience!
A visit to Trutnov and its surroundings, the city of Havel penance, and the fascinating war of 1866, is also worthwhile. This trip can easily be combined with a visit to the famous rocks of Adrsprach (www.adrspach.com) and / or the Snezka.
Jicin, the city of Wallenstein, is excellent to combine with the Prachovsky Skaly, the most beautiful rocks of the Bohemian Paradise (www.cesky-raj.info). Note: grab the entrance in the forest! You can then drive on to the castle of Detenice, where you can enjoy excellent food and drink and beautiful (knight) parties are given, www.krcmadetenice.cz. We think the Prachovsky Skaly is fantastic! We also go here every year!
Logically we also recommend a visit to Prague and Hradec Kralove ...
We wish you all a pleasant stay!
Sincerely,
The van Veen family
PS. The final cleaning costs seem high on paper, but that has everything to do with extra variable costs such as cleaning the pool, wood for the fireplace, electricity in a remote area, et cetera et cetera ... This is not standard, especially considering the difference in seasons. That is why other matters on the advocacy of the rental company such as bed linen and taxes are usually included. We also recommend to bring your own dishwasher machine tablets as well as lighters for the stove or bbq.
PPP. You can also store clothes in the drawers under the bed.
PPPS. Did you know that gold was found in the stream below the park? The brook is not called Zlatnice for nothing. Zlata means gold.hide
