Barneville-Carteret is a pretty seaside resort with two harbours and three superb beaches, all of which have been awarded the Blue Flag for their water quality and environmental management. Due to the influence of the Gulf Stream, the water here is slightly warmer. Blue-white bathing cabins complete the picturesque atmosphere of the seaside resort, which was already popular at the turn of the lastt century, as many Art Nouveau holiday villas still testify today.
