Tips Owner: Location
The Villa with one of the most stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea!
Built at the top of a foothill, facing the port of Gavrio to the left and the Aegean Sea to the right, the Unique Scenery Villa, offers to its' guests a panoramic and unforgettable view of Andros Island, the rest of the Cyclades and the deep blue waters of the Aegean Sea.
This exclusive sea scenerry can be enjoyed from all the sites of the villa, as the spacious balconies surround the structure of this Cycladic resort estate.
This newly constructed and secluded, 2-level villa at the cliffs of Charaka foothill, is approximately 10 minutes’ drive away from the port of Gavrio.
The Unique Scenery Villa has one of the most spectacular panoramic views of the Aegean Sea allowing its guests to fully enjoy an unforgettable dream like scenery in a serene and completely relaxing and rejuvenating holiday environment.
We would like to stress the fact that the access to the villa is through an unpaved, steep and relatively narrow road and that is why a 4x4 jeep (4WD) is necessary. Also that, as the case is, with most remote unpaved roads with high inclination found in the greek islands, it is not recommended for new or inexperienced drivers.
Facilities
This fully equipped 140 sq.meters villa has 3 bedrooms (one of which is the master bedroom with private bathroom), 2 bathrooms, 1 WC, a traditional fire place, a BBQ area and at least 150 sq.meters of balconies and terraces, all with stunning view.
Guests must know that they should have or hire a four wheel drive jeep (4WD), as the end of the road from Gavrio port to the house is steep, quite narrow at some points and at the end unpaved and relatively rough. It is not recommended for new or inexperienced drivers. The villa is also secluded and not in walking distance to any super market, newsstands or pharmacies.
In addition, guests must know that the Unique Scenery Villa has many steps.
Andros Island: One of the most unique islands of the Cyclades and one of the best 19 islands of Greece! Also, the best greek island for hiking!
The Environment
Only 2 hours ferry ride from the port of Rafina in Athens, Andros is one of the most unique greek island of the Aegean Sea and it belongs to the Cyclades island group. The combination of blue and white, windmills and scenic geography give to the island of Andros its famous cycladic beauty.
Nevertheless, Andros goes beyond that: apart from the traditional cycladic elements, there are ranges of mountains, with steep slopes separated by ravines, deep gorges, riverbeds and three verdant valleys planted with olive trees, figs, oranges, lemons and vineyards. Tourists could even enjoy horse riding, hiking or mountain biking. According to the British newspaper "THE TELEGRAPH" (July 2017), Andros is amongst the best 19 greek islands and the most favourite for hiking. Finally, sandy and pebbled beaches complete this lovely picture. As an authentic cycladic island, Andros combines upland greenery with fine sandy beaches, organized or secluded, beautiful mountain villages and seaside resorts, as well as, numerous water sources and small waterfalls. In fact, Andros is famous for its pure water, which is bottled under the trademark of Sariza.
Gavrio is the main port of Andros, where all ferries from Rafina, a port 40 km north-east of Athens, arrive. Its capital is Chora, a lovely village with narrow paved streets, beautiful mansions and interesting museums. The symbol of Andros is the lighthouse at the entrance of the port of Chora, an old lighthouse that stands on a rock in the sea.
Batsi is the most tourist developed place in Andros and it is surrounded by wonderful beaches, including Golden Beach and Agios Petros. Among the most beautiful beaches, with crystal clear water are also Ahla, Vitali and Vlychada, but the road to these beaches is track. Ormos beach, on the eastern side, is great for windsurfing.
Some of these beaches are organized with sea beds, umbrellas, fish restaurants and beach accommodation, while many other coves are totally secluded. However, all beaches offer a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for summer vacations. Due to its location, Andros can be combined with a city break to Athens and holidays to the neighboring islands of Tinos and Mykonos.
Connections
Because of its proximity to the second most important harbour of Attica, Rafina (which is very close to the airport of El. Venizelos) the island of Andros has always been a favourite weekend destination for the Athenians. However, it is also great for long holidays due to the relaxing atmosphere, its beautiful unique nature and its strategic location, allowing excursions to many other famous greek islands, like Tinos and Mykonos. Occasionally, depending on the season, there are other direct or indirect connections from Andros to most of the other cycladic islands.hide
