The house is situated in the Town of Porto Heli, which is the third town of the Argolida Prefecture in the eastern Peloponnese. It comprises of the Kranidi and Ermioni Municipalities. The house is seated in the Municipality of Kranidi. Porto Heli also comprises of the villages Didima, Therisia, Iliokastro, Kilada, Ermioni, Pelei, Rado, Fourni, which all belong to the above municipalities. The area of Porto Heli is an attraction point for thousands of visitors whether they are from Greece or abroad.
The position is ideal for its guests as it is close to Athens and at the same time, far enough to find yourself in a totally different world. A world that is rich in archaeological artefacts, culture with unique monuments and natural beauties.
It is situated at a 200km distance from the Eleftherios Venizelos Airport. It can be accessed by land (2.5-hour drive from Athens and a 1.5-hour drive from Nafplio) and sea (2 hours with the Dolphin from Piraeus).
The islands Poros, Hydra and Spetses are adjacent to the Town of Ermioni and are connected by sea with ships that depart from the port of Piraeus and arrive either at Porto Heli or Ermioni. On land it borders with Epidavros and the Towns of Argos and Nafplio, which offer get-away destinations from Porto Heli.
Important road works, which have either been completed or are being scheduled (Rio-Antirio Bridge, Athens-Korinth Tunnels, Didimo-Nafplio Road, Koliaki-Galata Road, Galata-Ermioni Road, Kranidi-Ermioni Road), will significantly reduce the access time by car.
Region Kilometric Distance
Nafplio 75 km.
Mycenae 80km.
Korinth 100km.
Galatas 50km.
Patra 220km.
Tripoli 150km.
The Porto Heli region is rapidly being developed, positively contributing in all sectors. It is worth noting that certain private and public works, of vital significance, have commenced:
The construction of the Porto Heli marina is making good progress.
The construction of a marina is scheduled for Ermioni.
The biological cleaning of the Ermioni waters has been set into operation.
Activities concerning the construction of a golf course in the Kilada are still underway.
Ιn the summer of 2012, the construction of hotel complex "AMAN RESORT" was completed in the region "VERVERONDA" of PORTO HELI. The hotel, built on 600.000sq.m surface, is the only one 7* hotel in whole Greece and has radically changed the tourist data of our region. The complex started to function in 2012, during the worst possible juncture, however it surpassed all expectations. Worth saying that in 2014 the "NIKKI BEACH" hotel in Portoheli, being constructed rapidly, will be completed.
Moreover, the region has an abundance of magnificent beaches with crystal clear waters to satisfy everyone’s desire. There are beaches with pebbles or sand, crowded or isolated, which offer an atmosphere of serenity and relaxation. However, a multitude of services and abilities are provided at the organised beaches such as sea sports, boat rental (sea bikes and canoe) and sea equipment for entertaining and carefree moments.
The local market is of the same standard with a large variety of stores that sell gifts, souvenirs as well as more luxurious items (jewellery, clothing, etc).
TOURIST ATTRACTIONS
Porto Heli offers its visitors attractive choices. The natural beauty of the area, the tourism infrastructure, and the close proximity to archaeological sites as well as the islands of Spetses and Hydra, accessible either by land or sea, render this an appealing holiday destination, conference meeting point and the organisation of similar events, or the starting point for other excursions.
The Prefecture has an amazing cultural heritage. 110 archaeological sites and monuments of particular interest have been officially acknowledged. The Prefecture has three world-renowned theatres (Epidavros, the Little Theatre of Epidavros, the Ancient theatre of Argos), two Museums (in Nafplio and Argos), a large radius of archaeological sites (Mycenae – Tiryntha) as well as smaller sites (e.g. Ancient Ireo – Dendra – Midas’ Palace – Pyramid of Hellenikon – the Arcardian ancient bridge - Prosymni, etc) Byzantine monuments (Aghia Triada – Neo Ireo – Nyfi- Aghia Moni – Lygourio – Adami – Moni Avgou, etc) and many more.hide
