Among the marvellous itineraries, I advise you to visit the Baroque town of Lecce with Roman amphitheatres and theatres, the old town centre and seafront of Gallipoli (8km), the Greek town of Otranto with its cathedral and Ostuni, "the white city".
I also recommend the tour of the Adriatic coast from Santa Maria di Leuca to Otranto, and when you arrive in Santa Maria di Leuca turn on the radio and listen to Greek music, because we are only 70 km from Greek islands.
Nice beaches: Portoselvaggio National Park (2 km), Lido Pizzo (south of Gallipoli), Santa Maria al Bagno (700m), Tabù in Porto Cesareo (9km) and Baia dei Turchi in Otranto.
Good restaurants nearby: "Art Nouveau" in Santa Maria al Bagno, "Relais Il Mignano" in Nardò and "La Puritate" in Gallipoli.
