The region offers many activities like hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, fishing and horse riding. You can also visit the International Mugello racetrack and Scarperia golf course. The Medici Villa has a private garden and a barbecue. There is a shared tennis court and a smaller swimming pool, ping pong table and arrangement for open air dining. The former wine cellars have been converted into meeting rooms. The town center and general supplies are 400 m away while the train station is 5 km away. Public transport and bike rental are 15 km away. The nearest airport is the Florence Airport and is at a distance of 45 km. Heating on request to be paid on site: 11 euro per hour

With the Sieve River winding through its grounds, Villa Gayo is located in the municipality of Vicchio, (the birthplace of Giotto, Cimabue and Fra Angelico), which is just 2 Km away. It can easily be reached on the "Autostrada del Sole" motorway (Barberino exit, 25 km from Vicchio), while Florence can be reached by taking scenic roads, (including the Rufina and Pomino Chianti Wine Road) or by traiin (Santa Maria Novella station in the heart of Florence) - reachable in under an hour.
