Tips Owner: Cambiasca (290m above sea level) is the town where the various towns of the Intrasca Valley converge downstream, thanks to their position. The oldest documents date back to 1082, 1124 and 1162 and through these three ancient documents we can get an idea of the life of this small medieval town through its economic activities. In fact in these acts we speak of land cultivated with vineyards, meadoows, arable land and forests.
...Read more This village preserves a historic center among whose narrow streets you can find recurrent details of the piedmont building, internal courtyards, arcades that support the arcades, portals in serizzo that frame the entrances, houses with balconies and wooden stairs. To admire, in the central square of the old part of the village, the rounded stone fountain and the former Church of S. Gregorio, a 16th century foundation, near the parish bell tower, now deconsecrated and used as a historical archive of the valley after a careful renovation which has maintained the salient features of the original sixteenth-century architecture.
The area surrounding Cambiasca is ideal for those who love trekking and mountain bike trails: the fantastic panorama and the possible routes are different, depending on the physical form or expectations.
Furthermore, a few kilometers away you can reach the provincial capital from where you can take boat trips on the lake, train in Milan or even go shopping, buying local and Italian products and specialties.
